Is PT at KFix Physical Therapy Right for Me?
Who can benefit from PT?
Athletes or Individuals Dealing with Pain: Return from injury or reduce aches and pains that are keeping you from activities you love.
Post-Operative Rehabilitation: Recovery from surgery, restore normal function, and get back to your preferred activities.
Performance Clients: Take your performance to the next level by maximizing how well your body moves and functions, learn to detect signs of impending injury and self-correct, stay one-step ahead of the competition!
Prevention and Maintenance: Prevent future injury by restoring imbalances and normalizing movement deficiencies, regular visits can help you become aware of undetected issues in your health and movement. Save yourself from spending thousands of dollars later on because you were reactive to your health and not proactive!
What is your new patient procedure?
New Patients for PT Services must undergo a full Physical Therapy Evaluation to gather data that will allow the Doctor to make informed decisions regarding the Plan of Care. This evaluation takes place during the first visit and remaining visit time is utilized to discuss findings and initiate treatment.

A consultation prior to your initial visit can help the PT streamline the evaluation process and increase efficiency. A consultation can often be completed over the phone or video chat and can be a great way for you to ask any questions or voice uncertainties as to whether PT is right for you!
Do you accept insurance?
KFix PT is considered an out-of-network practice. We do not have contracts with 3rd party payers. Rather, our patients pay at the time of visit. From there, they may choose to seek reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits with their insurance provider. Some use their tax-free HSA account, have a high deductible, or no insurance at all. Others simply just want superior care so that they get better quicker without jumping through ridiculous hoops that waste time!
We do this to keep things simple and transparent. No surprise bill 3 months after your visit, instead you might have a surprise check from your insurance company!

We at KFix PT believe that taking care of your health should be simple and accessible. We believe it is morally wrong to provide inferior care because we are rushed or pressured by outside influences. You and your Doctor should be the only ones making your health care decisions and deciding what is best for YOU!
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
Simple answer- You DO NOT need a referral to begin physical therapy right away!
KFix Physical Therapy does accept referrals from other doctors to begin treatment. However, Dr. Winter can treat you for up to 30 days prior to requiring a physician's referral. This is your individual patient right under Florida law known as Direct Access.
If you have already been seen for your problem by a physician, you can request a referral for PT.

What Our Patients Are Saying
Nice and cozy clinic with all the amenities required. In addition of that Dr. Kayla is an outstanding physical therapist who works hard every single day to satisfy her clients. She’s doing it with and passion with obviously a lot of experience. I highly recommend her clinic.
René Diop
Dr. Kayla is a wonderful therapist with extensive experience in rehab for return to sport as well as adult and young adult orthopedic rehab. Plus, you get to see her every time instead of getting tossed around from therapist to therapist which is what happens at other places I’ve been to. I highly recommend this clinic!
Paige Robson
Dr. Kayla Winter is exceptionally knowledgeable and very informative. She gave me a full exam after a shoulder injury and was extremely descriptive with her diagnosis. She made it easy for me to understand, it’s very clear that she is passionate about her career and truly cares for her patients! Would strongly recommend to anyone!
